baphnediaSadly, one of the most important tenants of the effect I have on my surroundings is how I set up my personal space. Unfortunately, some of the senior enlisted in my unit feel that the way I have my room set up violates something in their mind - though I've technically done nothing wrong.
So. I'm re-arranging the room tonight. I'm kinda pissed off, as I had other plans with what to do with my time (like work on Nephyl's Heritage some more, write some music, or just tweak Paradice Net some more). I am left with the feeling of 'how DARE they?!' and remember the whole reason why I moved off post anyway - to get away from this shit.
Alas though, I moved off post without authorization, and was summarily punished for it. Oooooh. Like I give a damn. The barracks didn't have electric lighting available in the rooms. Unless you owned a lamp, you would have to keep your door open to see at night. Stack constant water and electricity problems (that we still have) on top of it and I had plenty of reason to live elsewhere. I need just one more promotion (I'm elegible in a little less than a year) to be able to move off post and get subsidized for it. It will happen, too.
So, I like the way my room is arranged. I'm going to do my little bit of research on just what rules I could possibly be breaking, and if they can't show it to me in black and white tomorrow, they can go fuck themselves. It's that pucker factor and I'm all out of pucker.
As an aside, I also got a helluva lot of great quotes from Frank Cotolo that will be getting added to Paradice Net soonish. I'm still having problems with doing some basic editing of pictures, it appears that no editors want to touch any sort of image file, though they are still displayed normally in IE or other applications. So, I'm counting my registry as shot, and will do an inventory of my software to ensure that I can reinstall everything if I get the time after I wipe this computer. The downside to this of course is the time factor. There isn't any of it.
