baphnediaThis is sort of like when, during an endocsopy or colonoscopy, when they remove the tube and you have that 3-minute fart. I feel so deflated right now.
So, at the beginning of May, the Army deducted my retirement check by $974, so that I could get paid $974 by the VA. Which is cool, because the Army's money is taxable, the VA money is not (so, it's almost a thousand dollars less in taxable income I get). But, the VA also withheld it's payment, so I effectively lost $974. Now, I've been on the phone and finally reached somebody, who got all this info together for me, and initiated a retroactive payment, but says that it will be 60-90 days before I will receive it. Otherwise, my disability pay looks like it will start on June 1st.
I have enough money to get by (I think), so long as no emergencies come up, but I can't put anything else in savings like I was planning to, being shorted $974 like this. It makes me wonder if I want to work for this government ever again - I never thought I'd have so many pay issues being retired. So, if you want to help me out of this bind a little bit, I suppose I can do something for you. Shamelessly self promote my debut album. Because, I get $5.00 for each one that sells (and PWMN makes them on-demand, so out of that $5.00, there are no other costs).
