Rare Political Commentary

I usually don't go into these things too much. Usually because politics is never sexy, and politicians don't usually taste good. Morally or literally, you ask? Let's pretend that I didn't go there in the second sentence.
Now, polls and campaign financing are two very important issues for campaigners. However, it seems that 'The News' first reports on those two subjects, and fail to talk about anything about the candidates that is of substance. So, essentially, the news is concealing from us any perception of 'real' information about the candidates. Now, they've screwed this up a time or two (one of my favorites was CNN proving their short memory - McCain was blathering live about 'No New Taxes' - and the news didn't attack him for that standard rhetoric... they praised him on it, much in the way they praised "Read my lips: No New Taxes" from Bush Sr.).
So, where 'election stats' could easily be billboarded, the news' commentary that is constantly saying that the candidates aren't speaking about the issues falls flat. Every time I've seen/heard a candidate live, that's almost all they talk about. However, the news fails to pass this on.
Whoops. They're not passing it on. They're not spreading the word. Oh no! Could it be that they aren't feeding us news?
