I am going to offer the sleaziest, dirtiest deal for artwork that I could possibly come up with... or maybe not. As one-sided as this appears, I'm sure I'm not outdoing someone out there... oh, and when I say 'we', I mean my company. I do try to keep 'Baphnedia' and my professional life separate, so I apologize if I don't use my company's name here.

Beware, I hear the bullet points can get sharp...

- We would like to launch our first product by October 9th.
- Most everything for the collectible card game is done, except all of the artwork, which we would like by October 2nd.
- To do this, we will need about 100 images 4x4" inked and colored, and about 30 graphic icons / background art in total.
- The detail doesn't need to be very high, because the image is going to get downsized a lot, to fit on cards (more specific final dimensions to come).
- We would like to be able to afford to pay you now, but we don't have that choice at this time. What we can do, is pay you as soon as possible after the product's launch, regardless of the success of the launch (obviously the more successful we are, the sooner you get a check), in addition to sending you a small portion of profits for every image used creditable to you.
- We are aiming for 5,000+ sales in a period of 3 days.
- What we would like to know from you within the next 24 hours is:
1) Under these sorts of conditions, how much work would you like us to give to you (whether one piece or a hundred)?
2) How quickly can you get the work you commit to done?
3) If we can pay 100% of what is owed on the backend, we will pay a rate of $50/piece for the 4x4" inked and colored art.
- We can revert how we're financing projects to what we were doing before, which could result in us being able to afford to pay you now as much as we were paying you before (sad to say, but true).
- We will own all rights to the artwork produced.
- Nothing will go forward without a written agreement (as in, selected artists will be sent a message on LJ with an email to contact me at, and after questions are answered, contracts will be sent so more questions can be asked.
- Artists who would like to do this should comment with a link to their public online portfolio.
- The medium isn't more specific than 'anything not bolted down' at this point - but we'll figure that out soon!

Even if you are not an artist, there is something here for you.
We might find ourselves looking for 100 artists to do the work; we will send you one free deck of cards per artist you refer. The only caveat is that your referral comment (stating that you are making referrals) needs to appear before the artist's comment (stating who they were referred by). If it appears that you referred an artist after the artist already commented; then there's not much that can be done.

If you are an artist, please paste and fill in the following for your comments:
Screen Name:
Portfolio:
Specialty*:
Referred By:

* If you are better at character art, instead of buildings or items or other concepts, let us know so we can play up to your strengths if we can.

If you are not an artist, simply state that you are making referrals.

We will reply to comments initially, LJ messages after that and finally via email to get all written documents in order.

The numbers (which will be updated):
There are 80 4x4" images left at time of writing.
There are 30-ish supporting artwork images left at time of writing.
