Wanderlust and King of Castles
May. 9th, 2009 08:43 amWell, the time has come, finally. I like the place I live at, I like my friends, and all of that. But, the time has come for me to go seek out a castle of my own, or one I can share with another dragon. Preferably set up in a nice cozy park in sunny weather. Ya.

Ok, seriously, it has reached the point where I need to find my own place. The problem is that I lacked a few points of foresight about this.
- The jobs I'm applying for, those that are low-stress, won't pay nearly enough for me to live out on my own. This will have to change.
- Social Security turned me down for disability: Partly because they consider me to have 14 years of education, and that there are less stressful jobs out there than the Army that I can do. What they failed to note is that most of those jobs won't pay the bills on their own.
- I'm not planning on getting a place to rent - because the rental market is going to get too stupid. I'm too lazy to own a house (I'm the guy who'd let the grass grow fifteen feet tall). So, a condo is the way for me to go. But, I have an income deficiency, of ~2,600/mo, part of which will be good once I have my full VA benefit arriving, and the other part from a better-paying job.
On the plus side, right now, four of the checks that I'm 'supposed' to receive I don't have to work for. Although the 'something else', if I want to get more than two more checks from them, I need to do more work. It's just right now they owe more than they're able to pay in a single month, which is fine.
- Army Retirement
- VA Disability
- Business Loan
- Something Else

While one producer in Arizona is finishing up on stuff I recorded down there earlier this year and last year, another one will be recording me this morning. In fact, I need to leave in the next five minutes or so if I want to arrive at the studio on time.
Remind me to finish my next solo album too, won't ya?
