Going Blind
Aug. 21st, 2007 06:38 pmI think I'm getting to look a lot like Professor Farnsworth far too early. Not that my face is all wrinkled or any of that. No grey hair (or lack of hair) either. No.
I got my new glasses yesterday, with the 'high index lenses' (actually the highest index that they make), and on a small pair of glasses, the lenses still weigh my head down so much I find myself looking at the ground when I'm walking.
This isn't to say that I used to be able to see 'good'. Far from it. Eight years ago, I had 20/450 and 20/650 (in the left and right eyes, respectively). However, now I have 20/650 and 20/800. I don't know how much longer I can do this while going blind. What's even more fun, is that surgery is out of the question
Leaving early to go see my family has a whole new meaning to me; I'd like to actually be able to see them before my eyesight is no longer correctable.
